I think I had as much fun as my clients (a couple who are wine lovers) asked me to put together a 2 day introductory wine class for them which would serve as a foundation course as they start to build up their wine cellar.
I created a bespoke two day workshop interspersed with bite size theory and tastings selected to illustrate the characteristics of the most popular grape varieties from classic wine regions to depict the different wine styles.
At the end of the workshop we were joined by other clients and friends to polish off the bottles. It is in times like this when I am reminded of the reason that attracted me to learn about wine in the first place… yes it can be an incredibly cerebral subject of study but it is also an agricultural product which reminds you of the most simple pleasures in life!
